Company History
In August 2007, a Boston-based private equity firm, Bunker Hill Capital, completed the acquisition of The Smith & Wollensky Restaurant Group (“SWRG” or the “Company”). SWRG is a leading operator of high-end, high-volume Smith & Wollensky steakhouses located in eight major cities across the U.S. Headquartered in Boston, MA, the Company is one of the few national steakhouses that dry-ages and hand-butchers USDA Prime beef on premises to ensure unparalleled quality, tender texture and outstanding flavor. Each Smith & Wollensky restaurant offers distinctive high quality food, creative menus, an extensive wine selection and exceptional customer service accompanied by attractive design and décor.
The Company currently owns and operates restaurants located in Miami Beach, Chicago, Las Vegas, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, Columbus, Houston, and Boston. The New York location is owned by the licensor of the brand name and is not owned by SWRG. While SWRG shares common interests and is in communication with the New York City location, SWRG remains a completely separate company.
Company Overview
SWRG currently operates eight locations in addition to holding the worldwide rights to the Smith & Wollensky’s brand. The Company manages all business functions including marketing, finance, operations, and more, headed by the company’s newly promoted president and brand expert, Michael Feighery who has been with the company for over 24 years. SWRG has also recently hired Kimberly Giguere-Lapine as the new Marketing Director. With Cathy Tsoukalas, also recently appointed as Vice President of Finance, the company is on track to build a stellar corporate team committed to excellence and growth.
