New Sr. VP of Catering Heads Private Dining & National Partnership Program

Cheryl Kahn-Brocco joined Smith & Wollensky Restaurant Group February, 2011 as SVP of Catering. She will oversee the private dining venues available nationwide at each of the eight iconic locations. And late summer, the new location on Boston’s Atlantic Wharf will be added to the list for more event options.

It doesn’t matter whether hosting a private dinner for 6 in Boston, a corporate function for 200 in Miami, or a cocktail reception for 600 in Chicago,” said Michael Feighery, President of Smith & Wollensky Restaurant Group. “With her extensive hospitality experience and demonstrated passion for impeccable customer service, Cheryl is a perfect fit and welcome addition to the family.”

 A graduate of the Hotel College at the University of Nevada at Las Vegas, Cheryl started her career in the management program for The Hyatt Corporation on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC. She joins Smith & Wollensky from The Glazier Group, where she served as Director of Catering for 21 years overseeing one-of-a-kind events for all of the company’s properties. Her many accomplishments include being chosen by the White House Staff to plan all the food and beverage for the first family during the Republican National Convention in 2004, as well as landing all of the off-premise catering for the entire two-week Hasbro Toy show. In 2009 she was selected as a board member for the International Special Events Society. She has appeared on the Food Network, BBC Network and CBS News with Katie Couric. Her professional advice has been reported by Manhattan Bride, New York Magazine, BizBash, Real Simple Magazine and New York Times. She was a guest speaker at the National Association of Catering Executives conference in North Carolina in 2009.

The private dining rooms at each Smith & Wollensky location are perfect venues for both corporate and social functions, from 12 to 600 guests.
