Smith & Wollensky Restaurant Group is proud to announce plans to expand and grow its iconic brand. With nine locations across North America, SWRG will open its first international location in London early 2015, along with a re-launch of its Wollensky’s Grill concept this fall in Chicago.
Planned for a Spring 2015 opening, the London restaurant will be located on the ground floor of the Adelphi building on John Adam Street. Its two floors will showcase two full dining bars, two main dining areas, several private event rooms, a scratch kitchen outfitted with a full butcher shop and dry-aging room. Imported USDA Prime dry-aged steaks will be a staple of the menu, as well as premium seafood and award-winning wines, signature features of the Smith & Wollensky brand. In keeping with the goal of establishing an unprecedented culture of restaurant dining experiences, the remodeled Wollensky’s Grill at the Chicago location will stay true to the heart of best-in-class dining while exploring culinary avenues influenced by shareable dining and social interaction. Housed in the expansive all-glass lower level of the riverfront restaurant, the speakeasy concept pays homage to an American look with a global perspective, featuring a vibrant, inviting design incorporating the classic Smith & Wollensky green and white.
National Director of Culinary Development and Corporate Executive Chef Matt King has developed an innovative, forward thinking menu that is beef centric. Shareable plates of classic Smith & Wollensky USDA Prime steaks and other delectables will grace the menu along with a catalogue of local craft beers and cocktails.
Wollensky’s Grill is anticipated to reopen early fall. Check back for more details and for the reveal of the new menu.
