Smith & Wollensky Restaurant Group recently announced that the brand will soon expand its presence with the opening of a second location in Boston, Massachusetts. The new location will be part of Boston Properties’ prestigious new Atlantic Wharf project located on Boston’s historic waterfront, between the new Rose Kennedy Greenway and Boston Harbor at 290 Congress Street.
Working with Shawmut Design and Construction and Peter Niemitz of Niemitz Design Group, Smith & Wollensky Restaurant Group expects to open the restaurant in early summer 2011. Plans for the 10,000-square-foot space include interior dining with several private rooms, a luxurious bar and an expansive outdoor patio for waterfront dining, offering both lunch and dinner.
“Boston area diners have shown tremendous loyalty to the Smith & Wollensky brand,” said Michael Feighery, president of Smith & Wollensky Restaurant Group. “So it is with great excitement that we introduce a new, but equally iconic, Smith & Wollensky location—one that will offer premium waterfront views and outdoor dining.”
Operations at the Back Bay Smith & Wollensky location will continue as usual—with a greater emphasis on the unique private dining spaces and special event capabilities available at Boston’s Castle, located at 101 Arlington Street.
