Smith & Wollensky Opens in Ginza, Tokyo!

(May 1, 2026) Smith & Wollensky, the internationally acclaimed, fine-dining steakhouse, debuts its newest location in Ginza, Tokyo, introducing a new landmark for culinary craftsmanship, hospitality, and culture. The legendary steakhouse, with nearly 50 years of history, is finally making its debut in Japan tomorrow, May 1st, 2026 with the grand opening of its Ginza location. Experience the acclaimed steakhouse praised by The New York Times as 'The Steakhouse to End All Arguments’1.

The Ginza flagship store in Japan features three floors of modern and stately elegance, perfectly suited to a location where tradition meets sophistication. With a spacious main dining area, bar lounge, and private rooms, the interior recreates New York's vibrant intellectual social scene, where creators and executives gather. Additionally, on the 12th floor, live jazz performances are held four times a week, creating an atmosphere perfect for adults to enjoy the Ginza nightlife.

Our finest steaks—hand-selected to our exacting, proprietary standards—are expertly broiled and finished with signature beef fat rendered from our own aged cuts, elevating their rich flavor and natural aroma. It’s this commitment to craft that defines our restaurant. Savor the perfect pairing with a glass chosen by our sommelier from a cellar holding more than 2,000 wines.

As a symbol of our grand opening, the exclusive collaboration 'S&W Ontake Single Malt Whisky' crafted with Japan’s renowned distillery makes its debut. This initiative is set to roll out at Smith & Wollensky locations worldwide, starting here in Japan, blending Ginza’s flair with New York’s dynamism. Experience the ultimate hospitality from a storied brand.
