In early 2020, Smith & Wollensky introduced our 2016 Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon to our portfolio of house-branded wines. This rare, exceptional wine is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, exclusively from the premier American Viticultural Area of Rutherford in Napa Valley. Rutherford is known for its drastic night-and-day temperature shifts, sandy alluvial soils and the “dusty” finish to its wines, similar to the Pauillac region in Bordeaux.
This small bottling, in partnership with Girard Winery who also produce S&W Sauvignon Blanc and S&W Meritage, launched in late January 2020. Paired with our Prime USDA dry age beef, this special wine was extremely popular with guests and our supply quickly depleted. We currently await the bottling of the 2017 vintage and look forward to sharing it with our guests when our restaurants reopen.
Just like our Sauvignon Blanc and Meritage, Girard makes our wines available to our guests to enjoy at home. Visit our shop to learn more about S&W wines.
